We are pleased to announce that Danie Keulder of Nitida has been named Winemaker of the Year 2019 by Diner’s Club for the Nitida Pinot Noir.
This award is presented to the winemaker who produces a wine that the judging panel considers the best in a specified class – in this case: Pinot Noir.
Danie uses two clones - namely PN115, a Burgundian clone imparting a lighter colour hue and subtle fruit and earthy flavours, and PN667 which produces a darker hued, well-structured wine with elegant fruit flavours.
Fermentation takes place in stainless tanks and oak maturation is for 10 months in third and fourth barrels.
