The wines received the following reviews:
Boekenhoutskloof Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 – 93/100
"Black currant, licorice root, cedar and whole tobacco leaf form the nose of this dark, suave red. The palate is smooth and seductive in feel, with structured yet plush and pillowy tannins that, combined with the ripe black fruit and black berry flavours, lend a textural impression like crushed velvet. The finish is all black fruit and sweet, earthy spice, like cedar plank-grilled black plums and charred fennel bulb"
Boekenhoutskloof Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 – 91/100
"Pressed violet, black raspberry, cherry and mulberry all form the bouquet of this attractive red, with some delicate scents of church incense and sweet baking spice, like whole nutmeg and allspice, in the background. It’s smooth and plush on the palate, with moderate tannins and ripe berry flavours that produce a crushed-satin texture and leave an enduring impression. "
